MyoYin
MyoYin is the combination of yin yoga and myofascial release.
Experience the power of Yin yoga and myofascial release in this transformative practice. Whether you are seeking relief from pain, want to optimize energy flow throughout the body, recharge your batteries, or just looking to deepen your practice, this class offers a rejuvenating journey for all levels.
What is MyoYin Yoga?
MyoYin is a modality that creatively combines yin yoga with myofascial release ball techniques for increased therapeutic effects. It is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure onto trigger-points (muscle knots) and general myofascial restrictions using a range of props such as balls and/or blocks. This class will nourish, stretch, restore, and revive the soft tissues of the body through long passive holds and techniques to relieve tension, improve range of motion, release fascia adhesions, and muscle knots.
Our framework is based on functional and accessible practices with elements of yoga therapy and a focus on spine safety. Yoga therapy is a whole-body approach to better health by using the tools of yoga to meet specific physical, mental and emotional needs and goals. A spine-safe approach ensures that the spine gets the movement it needs to stay healthy and modifying postures that might be unsafe or injurious for some. A functional approach accommodates skeletal variations and focuses on accessible postures for all.
Through our inclusive and accessible classes, we hold space for students in their entirety and allow them to nurture and heal themselves. Learning to work WITH our unique bodies and modifying our practice to celebrate our uniqueness is what we are all about.
Let go a little, a little bit of transformation takes place. Let go a lot, and a lot of transformation takes place. The degree of your success has everything to do with the degree of your surrender.
MyoYin is offered as workshops or can be booked as private classes.
This practice is open to all but please check with us first should you have a chronic pain condition that might be trigged by some of these techniques.
